The Mutha Hubba is MSR's bestselling freestanding three-person tent, and has been awarded the prestigious Backpacker Magazine "Editors' Choice Award" for outstanding innovation in design, materials, and performance. It boasts all of the same features as the company's ever-popular Hubba Hubba, in a spacious and expanded version. Two doors make for easy in-and-out, while also keeping the air fresh inside the tent when all three campers have turned in for the night, while the full-coverage rainfly keeps the elements at bay. A unique pole configuration maximizes cubic space on the tent's interior, with a full 46 inches of head space, and two vestibules offer easy dry gear storage.

Ripstop nylon fabric is coated with DurasSield polyurethane and silicone to repel water, and innovative all-in-one hub-and-swivel poles are stable and easy to set up. Despite the sizable 40-square-foot living quarters the Mutha Hubba provides, the tent's minimum packing weight is just six pounds, six ounces. It can be used as a double-wall tent for full protection from Mother Nature, or as a freestanding tarp shelter with the optional footprint (sold separately), for hardcore minimalists.

Outdoor enthusiasts looking for the next great gear idea, they went on to design the world's first self-inflating mattress, the Therm-A-Rest. Today, Cascade Designs remains a private, family-owned company that has grown to be one of the most respected outdoor manufacturers in the world.
